  well, today was a completely different day, nice actually :)

  .. i started watching "everything is illuminated" (elijah wood is in it), and i am loving it, it's a little different than the usual commercial movies, i don't know if anyone has seen emir kusturica (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001437/) movies....like "underground", it kind of reminded me of those movies, mostly because of the ukranian music. anyway, i am enjoying that!

  ...i had lunch with one of my best friends, at an italian restaurant, i loooove italian (food, language, music, men, LOL) and they had gnocchi al pesto, delicious! and some of her friends from work showed up so i had a nice time and met a few people and saw others i knew before...after that i went to her office (she works at a firm i used to work for, so there are a few people i already know), so it was a whole bunch of fun...and the "best" part was that they insisted on me coming back to work for them...as a manager...i told them, obviously, first, no thanks, but then i started thinking about it, and it could be a very good option to have ... just in case, i ever want to come back to mexico...but seriously, my decision is to go back to my life in houston (as was be4 dad got so sick)...

  plus, in the situation i am in, i obviously can't make any life decisions, because i don't even know what's going to happen, and what will happen to dad...u live for the day, that's what happens...so anyway, that was just a cool thing today i wanted to share w/u guys...

  ...i know it's not that exciting, but it was one of the few "big distractions" i have had :)

  ...so now, it's almost 2am and i have gone to bed sooo late lately, that i think i will go....anyway, i think chelsea has set a good example for me:::

  OK so now, if you are completely determined to get out of the Friend Zone, and make him (or her) fall for you, I found this online from a “Mr. Fingers” ~ no comment, I don’t know him, but I found what he said totally true…so here are his “golden rules” (they are written about girls, but I think they can work just as good with guys ;)):

  1. act as if you don’t need her don’t show your feelings for her, and show her there are other things going on in your life, so you are your priority

  2. you find her attractive but she has competition make comments about other hot girls, but at the same time you can tell her she’s hot and she knows it. It's okay to compliment her like this when it is balanced by your wandering eye. It also communicates that you find her attractive, but in a very detached way. She might try to flip it on ya and talk about other guys but don't let it faze you. Take interest in it and find out what attracts her most about guys.

  3. you have high standards Talk about things you require in a woman, a subtle way of qualifying her Let this conversation build and get her to talk about what makes a great boyfriend. Listen to her and give her feedback as this unfolds.

  No, it is not the diet…no, it is not the twilight, it is not the “zone” criss goes into to connect his mind, body, and spirit…….it’s the dreaded FRIEND zone!

  It is so common, I actually found it in Wikipedia and it is said to be a “folk psychology” concept. I really don’t have to explain what it is, since some of us, unfortunately, have already been residents of it…In my case, more times than I care to remember :P

  In wikipedia, it says that this “concept” is sometimes geared towards helping a man have sex with a woman, and keep his “options” open, so he can keep meeting more women. Ughhhhh.

  On the other hand, ladies, I have been witness to (and have experienced it myself) some cases where there is a sudden shift OUT of the friend zone, into the lover zone, or even going into a steady romantic relationship.

  

  Each case is obviously different, but I think there are things that may be similar in each. Some “theories” that may be true:

  • I have more friends that are men, but there is a theory that says there can never be such an awesome “friendly” or “platonic” relationship between a man and a woman. One, at least, has to be “into” the other one. (if you think about it, you may come to the same conclusion.) I am not saying that there has to be a love interest, but there may be some kind of physical attraction, if not, a true desire to be with that person.

  • It can be done (to become something more than just friends), because there are many relationships that have blossomed from a really true friendship (I have been in one). You may grow so attached to that person, you may share so many things together, that a different kind of love grows and something may trigger different feelings (remember Chandler & Monica on Friends?)

  • Some men are not ready to commit, although they do have true feelings for that person. They want the cake and eat it too. This is a really horrible situation, because it can lower the woman’s self esteem and it can wear the friendship out. The best thing (in my experience) for this is to flat out talk about it and define the type of relationship. Believe me, it will spare time, effort, and horrible feelings. And it can create a beautiful relationship, because some guys, they do need a little push.

  • In other cases, it is better to just sit thru the friendship, and see where it goes. I think this is the best thing if you have just started to “hang out” with that person and nothing has really been defined yet, and if you are just starting to have feelings. From experience, I know some of these feelings you are having just may be mistaken for love. They may be a kind of caring love, for a friend, the way the person makes you feel just to be with them, etc. Not necessarily a physical attraction, or lust, or love. I have had these kinds of feelings at the beginning of many of my great friendships. In this case it is better not to talk about it until you are sure, since some people may not be too mature about it and just cut you off completely thinking that you may be in love with them when it is not the case. Some people get “scared”.
